SERIES:
This series of paintings capture scenes of California in the third year of the Gold Rush. Motivated by a desire to see this place and time as those who were there saw it, I have focused on subjects that are now lost, but which with effort can be reconstructed. I have invested considerable amounts of research to assemble and compose each painting.
